The Lighthouse series

In July of 2017, Arvon Brewing Co. announced the launch of their first beer in the Lighthouse Series of New England Style India Pale Ales. These NE IPAs area each distinctly hopped with a single varietal, displaying the unique character of the hops as a shining beacon.

Michigan has a rich history of lighthouses, starting with Fort Gratiot, in 1825. Arvon Brewing Co. is proud to showcase Michigan's picturesque landmarks in the Lighthouse Series beers.

The first 6 Lighthouse Series beers we released in taprooms and bottles in 2017, in 2018 we plan to release 4 additional Lighthouse Series beers. Have a favorite light that you would like to see, let us know!

 Located in Chippewa County, Michigan, DeTour Reef marks the southern entrance of the DeTour passage between the Upper Peninsula and Drummond Island.  DeTour Reef NE IPA demonstrates the bright citrus and tropical fruit notes of Citra hops.

 Opened in 1825, Fort Gratiot is the first light in Michigan located in Port Huron.   Fort Gratiot NE IPA features the proprietary blend of Falconer's Flight hops that incorporate tropical, citrus and stone fruit flavors.

 4 years after Escanaba became a city, Sand Point lighthouse was constructed to warn ships of the sand shoals that reach out into Little Bay de Noc from Sand Point.  Sand Point NE IPA focuses on the light fruit flavors of Nelson Sauvin hops, highlighting flavors reminiscent of white wine.

 Standing 35 ft tall, the South Haven lighthouse guards the entrance of the Black River.   South Haven NE IPA features the most sought after hop varietal across the globe, Galaxy. The Galaxy hops bring this beer to life packed full of stone fruit and finishing with a grapefruit forward bitterness.

 The iconic white and red stripes of the White Shoal lighthouse sit 20 miles to the west of the Mackinac Bridge in Lake Michigan.  White Shoal NE IPA features Mosaic hops bringing forward many soft fruit flavors including apricot.
